Video Review + Bonus Rose Tutorial
Watch the review on video for the bonus “how to paint a rose” tutorial. I hope you like it!
Getting Started with the I AM Illustrated Faith Kit
I didn’t get much time to spend with the kit before this review was done, but I made the best use of my time by working in the devotional while waiting for my son’s dance performance to begin. Thank goodness for Bible apps and pencil. I was able to do a few pages, but had to wait until I got home to add some color.
I was excited to do Day 13, which is Beautiful because I’m working on something secret here at Bible Journaling Ministries that has to do with this very verse! Stay tuned for more on that later. I used gelatos and water to make cute roses to match the theme for the month.
I can’t get over how cute those roses are! I can’t stop painting them!!! Be sure to watch the Review video to learn how you can create them as well.
The Best Things About this Kit
My favorite part about these Illustrated Faith kits has always been the devotional. Coming in at #2 and #3 are the stamp sets and washi tape. The stamp set is well made. It’s much better than some of the stamp sets I buy at the store. Their cling stamps always give a great impression and clean up nicely.
The colors in this kit are amazingly beautiful. I’m in love with the paint palette and the gorgeous roses!!!
I can’t get enough of that washi tape too! The washi tape sticks nicely and coordinates beautifully with the entire kit. I just want to go washi tape everything with this one. So much Bible journaling to do, so little time.
Oh..and did I mention that magnetic bookmark? Be still – so perfect. It looks great in my Bible and it will in yours too!
The Worst Things About this Kit
I always have a hard time coming up with bad things to say about this kit. But, I want to provide the very best review so that you can make an educated decision. Here are the two things I didn’t like about the kit.
The first thing that got on my nerves was that some of the card stock letters didn’t come off as easy as I would’ve liked. They grabbed the edges and tore slightly at the bottom. Of course, I’m partial to regular stickers over card stock ones. I get a little too excited when I pull them off, so part of my issue could be user error. They still stuck down nicely without glue.
The second thing I didn’t like about the kit was the use of Jeremiah 29:11…again. This verse was used in the Tis the Season kit, Through Christ kit, and I believe it was a card in the Lists of Faith kit.
For a person who loves Illustrated Faith kits like I do, it’s a bummer when I open up my Bible to journal the verse and it’s already covered in that Bible and the second Bible too! I know of at least 30 verses about hope because we used Hope as our challenge in June. I “hope” they consider finding new verses as they develop kits in the future.
Overall Review of the I AM Illustrated Faith Kit
Overall, I’m thrilled with the new Illustrated Faith kit. It’s so gorgeous and is my favorite one so far this year! You can buy it here.
