I find it difficult to get Bible journaling pages done in December. I’m sure it’s because I overschedule myself. Being in the Word is important to me so I do my best to open my Bible or Bible App even if I don’t finish a page. Believe me, I have quite a few unfinished pages this month! The key to finishing them is to keep them simple and easy. Here are a few more December Bible journaling Ideas for those who are a bit overscheduled this month.
December Bible Journaling Ideas
One Year Expressions Bible
At first, I didn’t love my One Year Expressions Bible because it had the same images as my Inspire Bible. But then I started using it like a diary and fell in love with it. With this Bible, you can read the verses and then journal in the columns without needing to date the entry. That’s because the date is already set. Add your feelings, events, or anything you want to record. When the year is up you can get a new one! Plus you’ll feel great about reading the entire Bible in a year! If you’re not a fan of this one, you can use our Bible Journaling quiz to find the best one for you by clicking here.
Journaling with Pastels
I’m experimenting more with pastels these days. I really love the soft look you can get with them. The problem with pastels is that you have to fix them otherwise they’ll smear. I use a pastel ground, a workable fixative, and a final spray. It seems like quite a bit of work, but I do love the effect of it. Here are a few December Bible journaling ideas with pastels.
Bible Journaling Luke 8:16 – No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container, or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light. 17 For nothing is hidden, that will not be revealed; nor anything secret, that will not be known and come to light.
Bible Journaling Luke 6:45 – The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
Bible Journaling Luke 1:37 – For nothing spoken by God is impossible.
Bible Journaling Throughout the Day
Sometimes I’ll just pick up a book, like this one called Celebrating God’s Promises. A little yellow in the background using distress ink, pen to trace the image from the book, a bit of pastel, and stickers made this page super easy.
Bible Journaling Isaiah 43:10 – “You are my witnesses,” says Yahweh, “With my servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he.
Bible Journaling During Church
Yes, I Bible journal during church service. I keep my pens in my lap and read along with my pastor. When he goes into in-depth explanations, I usually use that time to color a verse, draw, or letter in my Bible or journal. I don’t need to watch him speak. I know what he looks like and I’d rather write as he talks. I write a lot!
Bible Journaling Daniel 9:4 – I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments…
