I was up at the tiny art studio a couple of weeks ago and my Bible app was stuck on the Book of Amos. I tried to turn it off and on, but God wanted me to be in the book so it stayed. I spent hours that day combing through the verses and Bible journaling in the book of Amos. Then I spent the rest of this week finishing up my work in that chapter.
Sometimes God wants us in a particular Book of the Bible. I may not know why I needed to dive deep into the book of Amos, but I’m thankful to be aware of those moments when it’s time to trust God to lead my study.
Bible Journaling in the Book of Amos
Here are a few entries I worked on as I was Bible journaling in the book of Amos.
Amos 4:13
For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth—the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!
Amos 5:14
Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said.
Amos 7:4-6
This is what the Lord God showed me: behold, the Lord God was calling for a judgment by fire, and it devoured the great deep and was eating up the land. Then I said, “O Lord God, please cease! How can Jacob stand? He is so small!” The Lord relented concerning this: “This also shall not be,” said the Lord God.
Amos 8:1-2
This is what the Lord God showed me: behold, a basket of summer fruit. And he said, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the Lord said to me, “The end has come upon my people Israel; I will never again pass by them.
Amos 9:3
If they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, from there I will search them out and take them; and if they hide from my sight at the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and it shall bite them.
Amos 9:15
I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,” says the Lord your God.
